Mike Nurre has recently been chosen to be on the Austin College Alumni Association Board, his term will run through June, 2007. The Alumni Association Board is comprised of 40 alumni from a variety of backgrounds, geographic locations, and class years. These board members represent the full membership of over 11,000 alumni and provide quality, overall direction for all alumni activities. The Alumni Association Board meets three times per year to advise and approve the operation of the Alumni Office, to help plan college events for alumni and to express the ideas, opinions, and concerns of Austin College alumni to the administration.  10/29/04

Stellagene (Teague) Shelton's mother, Stella Teague, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 in Richardson, Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 30, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas. Graveside services were conducted at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Mrs. Teague is survived by her husband, Gene; daughters and sons in law - Stellagene Shelton of Sherman, Dianna Lynn and Richard Curtis of Plano, Connie and Keith Borg of New Hope; sons and daughters in law, Mike and Katy Teague of Plano, Pat and Debbie Teague of Frisco. She is also survived by sisters and a brother in law, Ruth Elder of Tyler, Bobbie and Orville Todd of Henderson, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Teague was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vera Hargis, brothers John A. Hargis Jr., Edwin Booth Hargis sister, Margaretta Shock, grandson Matthew Gene Harrison, and son-in-law Joe Max Shelton.  10/29/04

Mike McDonald's father, John E. McDonald, passed away September 30, 2004 in Sherman. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife Wanda McDonald of Sherman; two sons, John M. McDonald (Mike) of LaPorte, Texas and Larry D. McDonald of Howe; one sister Louise Hutchings of Richardson, Texas and several nieces and nephews.  10/4/04

Pat (Riley) Garrett welcomed a granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Smith born August 4, 2004 in Houston, Texas. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21 inches long. Parents are Sam and Keely Smith.  9/30/04

Carol Connelly's father, Pascal "Bud" Connelly, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004, in Bonham, Texas. Graveside services were held Tuesday, September, 28, 2004 at Vittitoe Cemetery in Kentuckytown, Texas. Mr. Connelly is survived by a son, Robert A. Connelly; daughters Carol Connelly of Tampa, Florida, Ginger Melton of Whitewright, Texas, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  9/29/04

James Cooper's mother, Dollie Lee (Jackson) Cooper, passed away Friday, September 10, 2004 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Services were held Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gerald Perry of the Colony officiating. Interment was at Bethany Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper is survived by a son, James Cooper of Sherman; daughters, Dolores Cooper Douglas and Linda Cooper Watson, both of Sherman; sister, Ollie Mae Douglas of Fort Worth.   9/12/04

James Richard Yancey passed away Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, AR. Graveside services were held Monday, January 26, 2004 at Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Burdette, AR. James is survived by four sons, Richard Yancey, Scott Yancey and James Yancey Jr. all of Sherman, TX; Steven Yancey of Woodville, TX; brother Charles Yancey of Dallas, TX. Tommie Lynn (Roland) Dudley passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Tommie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jubal and Donna Dudley of Tom Bean; three grandchildren, Bradley Dudley, Daniel Dudley, and Nicole Dudley. Ginger (Smith) Cook's mother, Lila Burnley Smith, passed away Friday, July 2, 2004 in Houston. A memorial service was held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Houston on Friday, July 9, 2004. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Ginger Cook and husband Bill, Jim Smith and wife Linda, Mary Lynn Graham and husband John; grandchildren, Keri Carter and husband Jewels, Donald Graham and wife Giselle, and Bethany Graham; great grandchildren, Madeline and Braden Carter; sisters, Lottie Waddington, Ruth Loveland, Jane Hensley; and sister in-law Mary Ann Massey. Deanna (Nadeau) Wilson passed away in Germany on April 22, 2004. A special memorial service celebrating Deanna's life was held on May 29th at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington, Texas. It was Deanna's wish that any donations be made to the children's orphanage in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand through the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. 6/3/04

Patricia (Means) Wise, one of our elementary classmates, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Patricia is survived by her husband, Clarence Wise; son, Adam Wise; daughter, Marla Arterbury; parents, Joyce and Turner Means; sisters, Carol Means, Donna Young, and Andrea Henry and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 6, 2004 in First Methodist Church, Van Alstyne. Interment was in Van Alstyne Cemetery. 4/6/04

Daryl Talbot, cowboy cartoonist, has been invited to exhibit and demonstrate western cartooning at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK on May 8 & 9, 2004. Daryl will be drawing western theme cartoons while visiting families watch and share (mostly true) stories and experiences. Daryl provided some of the artwork for our last directory, as well as having published several cartoon books.  2/12/04

David Stockslager is on the road to recovery following a motorcycle accident that occurred exactly one week after attending our "Happy Days" second twenty year reunion. After a 47 day hospital stay, he is still undergoing rehabilitation and is making progress every day towards a lengthy but hopefully full recovery. David said he really enjoyed our reunion and is looking forward to getting together with us again, but the motorcycle riding may have to wait.  1/1/04
